A Golden Gate Bridge anti-COVID vax rally injures five, including two police officers

A car hit two police officers and three Golden Gate Bridge workers while authorities tried to block an anti-COVID vaccine protest at the famous San Francisco Thursday evening.

Several hundred protesters gathered against the city’s employment vaccine warrant at the mouth of the bridge when the victims were struck by a car in the traffic lane, according to The San Francisco Chronicle.

The two CHP officers and one bridge worker were taken to a hospital, where they were expected to survive their injuries, the newspaper reported.

“They were gathered at the sidewalk entrance on the Golden Gate Bridge, and apparently there were individuals in the crowd who stated that their intention was to take over the lane of traffic, so our intention at that point was to serve as a deterrent to try. To prevent anyone to move on, ”said CHP official Andrew Barclay.

Rumors on social media that the rally will stop traffic on the link to Marin County proved to be unfounded, but one driver was arrested earlier in the afternoon for getting out of his car on the bridge with protest signs and fighting police, according to the article.

The rally was the culmination of a four-day nationwide outing among anti-vaccinators who are required by their jobs to inoculate, an organizer reportedly said.

“Conditioning your work in a jab that is still experimental … is not just unconstitutional, it’s unjustifiable,” lawyer Leigh Dundas told The Chronicle.

“If you give up this right, what will be tomorrow?” Lan Nguyen, who said she was fired from her radiology job for non-compliance, reportedly asked.

One woman told the newspaper that instead of receiving the vaccine, she relied on an organic diet and actively tried to capture COVID-19 to “develop the antibodies”.

The anti-COVID rally was the result of an outcry among anti-vaccinators who are required by their efforts to get vaccinated.
