The event, in its 27th edition, will begin on December 12, at the Sofitel Corniche Hotel in the capital, Abu Dhabi, with the participation of a group of game stars from around the world, who have received the invitation of the organizing committee of the festival, most notably the Russian Vladimir Fedoseev, who qualified for the quarterfinals of the World Championship in 2021, and the Egyptian Bassem Amin, the Arab and African champion several times, the Indian Adeban, the Asian champion, and the Iranian Barham Maksoudlo, the world youth champion, in addition to Emirates gold star Salem Abdul Rahman.
The festival, which has been officially approved within the “calendar” of the International Chess Federation, is divided into 7 events, in addition to the newly developed First Line Championship, the Fast Chess Master Championship, the Blitz Chess Masters Tournament, the International Open Championship for Fast. and Blitz Chess, and the Junior Championships for 16-year-old Fast Chess.The review tournament.

The meeting discussed many issues that ensure continuity in the implementation of the work strategy applied by the club on the technical and administrative levels, which is consistent with the objectives of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council.The tournament will be divided into two categories, open tournament, and a junior tournament in the 16-year-old category, with the participation of a maximum of 50 players in each tournament.
Most of the meeting was devoted to discussion of the latest preparations for organizing the 27th Abu Dhabi International Chess Festival.
The club’s board of directors has made many decisions that contribute to serving the sport of chess in Abu Dhabi and the UAE, and that contribute to spreading the game by setting up activities in social centers in the capital, and organizing weekly refresh tournaments over the coming ones. period.
