An armed knife-wielding robber threatens staff and customers at a Sydney pharmacy

A knife-wielding robber threatened employees at a pharmacy in Southeast Sydney this morning.

Emergency services were called to a pharmacy on Anzac Parade, Kensington, at about 11am.

He stole $ 200 in cash then fled the scene.

Michelle Spiro, an employee of the pharmacy, said local employees are “very shaken.”

“He put the knife to her (the cashier) and told you to give me all your money. He came very close,” she said.

“We’re very shaken, it’s a terrible experience.”

The man was last seen going north on Anzac Parade.

No one was physically injured during the incident.

It is the second time the pharmacy has been robbed in the past three years.

Owners are now concerned about the safety of their personnel.

“When we used to see smiles and then someone came in with a covered face, you would immediately know you were restrained,” said Rosa Colagrossi, the pharmacy’s owner.

Police conducted a search of the surrounding streets for evidence today.

Investigations are ongoing, and anyone with information about the incident is encouraged to contact police.
