Cody Ramsey of Molong looks back for St George Dragons | Central West Daily

sports, local sports,

Cody Ramsey hit the ground running as he prepares to advance ahead of Tyrell Sloan in their race to be the Dragons ’defense in 2022. The 21-year-old puts in the tough yards, especially in the gym, as he aims to add muscle to his 185- centimeter frame during preseason. Matt Dufty’s departure opened the door for anyone to wear the red v-nr.1 jersey, with Sloan in a favorable position after finishing his 2021 campaign in the role. However, Ramsey is keen to apply some pressure. “I’ve always been a good runner, so I think it’s the gym I have to focus on. Everyone saw last year that I fought a few times and my body didn’t hold up as well as I expected,” he said. “It’s a really exciting battle (with Sloan), we obviously both want to play there and it’s a friendly contest. We both have to put on size and we have to gain strength, and we have to study our roles a lot.” We don’t really have a defense that has been in the game for a while to help us, so we choose (assistant coach) Peter Gentle’s brain. And we’ll see where we go from there. ”Our journalists work hard to provide local, up-to-date news to the community. Here’s how you can continue to access our trusted content:
