HOBOKEN, NJ – Another day, another round of loud fireworks for people to complain and guess about. Thursday’s round of explosives in the New York / Hoboken area began around 9:40 pm during a sudden downpour, leading some to speculate that the noises were thunder.
A thread under the @nyc_fireworks an account included a video of a fireworks display near the Hudson River.
Some people blamed the @fireworks_NYC Twitter account for not warning them, but that account is run by a volunteer who doesn’t work for New York City.
After taking some ribbing, the account owner posted:
