Interstate travelers could bypass Western Australia

There are growing fears within the tourism industry interstate travelers could bypass Western Australia due to ongoing border uncertainty.

Western Australia has announced it will reopen to other states once it reaches the target of a 90 per cent double dose of vaccination.

Tour operators say the unconfirmed date is causing more cancellations as they lose travelers to Queensland and the Northern Territory.

The WA Tourism Council says the uncertainty could cause wider economic pain, warning that hotels and hospitality resorts will struggle to survive another summer.
