Judging by the viewers, summer is here

If we judge by the number of viewers ignoring the main channels and directing ourselves to the odds, strings and repetitions of replays on the digital channels, summer should be here.

ABCs Hard Quiz (891,000 and the most watched news program on the night) after 7.30 (816,000), then bed. Gruen (856,000) was in order, but the pillow required me immediately before the end. Such are the rigors of watching television. Netflix and Prime have saved for what looks like a very long weekend with Friday the new Saturday for viewing.

That meant the Miss on Ten was missed – only 325,000 nationwide. That will increase by about 50% or so thanks to night-time capture and broadcast video-on-demand viewing, but it’s still not a good look. Seven Big Brother VIP – 433,000. America’s Got Talent post BBVIP – 201,000 nations; streaming will not save this turkey. Aminsulo 196,000, but that will more than double with overnight and streaming. Streaming flight save this turkey.

Soft figures at breakfast for ABC News Breakfast (Lisa Millar is gone) and for Ten’s Studio 10 which is now down to numbers where the hosts will be able to address each viewer by name.
