Kylie Kwong and Matt Whiley release a cool album and an all-day party

The city’s South Eveleigh neighborhood will host an all-day refreshment nightclub on December 3, as part of the Sydney Open For Lunch event which takes over the Sydney and Parramatta CBDs on the same day. Tickets include a dish by legendary Sydney chef Kylie Kwong and a cocktail by bartender Matt Whiley.

A mirror ballroom with a row of DJs including Original Roman vs Boogie Fingers, Levins vs Joyride, Ayebatonye, Deepa and Tyson Koh, will run from noon to 10pm.

Kwong will prepare a menu of Australian-Cantonese dishes from her South Eveleigh restaurant Lucky Kwong. Expect hokkien noodles with raw hiramasa kingfisher, sticky pork and native herbs from South Eveleigh’s Indigenous rooftop farm; a vegetarian version of the hokkien noodles; and a salad of five-spiced tofu, mushroom and vegetables.

Meanwhile, Whiley will bring the zero-waste atmosphere he follows at his bar, Re–, to the event. Think of a cocktail made with sherel-barrel soda, coffee-chaff whiskey, cardamom milk and sun-dried lime, and another made with overripe fruit, gin, whole mango, anchovy capsicum, orange and crispy gum. Red and white wine and Yulli’s Seabas beer will also be available.

You will also be able to grab snacks from on-site eateries including Bekya, Eat Fuh and Fishbowl.

Sydney’s Open for Lunch is a joint initiative between Destination NSW and the NSW Government, which will see major roads – including George Street in Sydney’s CBD and Parramatta Square – transformed into outdoor eateries.

To Fresco Disco of South Eveleigh is on December 3rd. There are two sessions, from 12 pm-3pm, and from 6 pm-10pm. Tickets are now on sale here.
