Lamar Jackson: If you were in our offense, you would be crazy too

Thursday night’s game ended as a mismatch on the field, but not in the way most people expected.

The Dolphins defense dominated the Ravens offense for the majority of Thursday night’s 22-10 win, which was a surprise to many as the Ravens were 6-2 entering the game and the Dolphins were 2-7. Miami has flashed safeguards Jevon Holland and Brandon Jones more often than any other defensive backs have flashed in the last six seasons and Baltimore has withered under the pressure being applied by the Dolphins defense.

After a field goal and a missed field goal to open the game, the Ravens had a string of eight straight canoes broken by the end of the first half and lost a fumble. It was the lowest winning regular season game of quarterback Lamar Jackson’s career and it led to him barking at teammates on the bench as the Dolphins moved toward victory.

“I was hot. Like, we didn’t score any points, ”Jackson said, via the team’s website. “We put our defense out there… I feel like our defense has turned off, man. We just didn’t do it offensively. That’s why I was crazy. If you were offended, you’d be crazy, too.”

The NFL may be a copy league, so others are likely to raise issues of the Dolphins in the coming weeks. If the Ravens don’t have a better response, their strong start to the season won’t add up to much.
