On his last trip to the brink of extremism, Donald Trump’s former National Security Adviser and criminal Michael Flynn called for a single religion in America on Saturday.
“If we are to have one nation under God – which we must – we must have one religion,” Flynn said in San Antonio at a stop for the far-right “ReAwaken America” tour. “One nation under God, and one religion under God,” he added.
Such a vision is completely contrary to the guarantee of the Constitution of Freedom of Religion, and the separation of church and state.
Ohio State Treasurer and Senate candidate Josh Mandel (R) tweeted, “We’re standing with General Flynn.”
The ReAwaken America tour features Flynn and other Trump allies, including Roger Stone and My Pillow CEO Mike Lindell. It also includes and anti-wax doctors, including controversial Stella Immanuel, who believes some diseases are caused by demonic sperm in demonic dream sex.
Flynn – who was pardoned earlier this year by Trump after pleading guilty to lying to the FBI – has made several surprising comments in the past.
In May he called for a Myanmar-like deadly military coup in America.
In July when he received a new AR-15-style rifle at a church, he said, “Maybe I’ll find someone in Washington.”
In September he worried about COVID-19 vaccines added to salad dressing.
But critics appeared particularly dismayed by his latest position.
Ret. General Mark Hertling called Flynn an “embarrassment for the U.S. military,” and his words “disgusting.”
