Taylor: “Production resurfaces in Australia”

Energy Minister Angus Taylor says the manufacturing sector is “resurfacing in Australia” as more than 90,000 jobs have been added to the industry in the last three months.

“More than a million people re-employed in manufacturing, we haven’t seen that in ten years since Labor has ruled, since the carbon tax was set,” he said.

Mr Taylor said one-third of Australian manufacturing was done in Melbourne, and it had risen to “replace imports, create new markets” while businesses bounce back from the pandemic.

“These are Australian companies leading the recovery,” he said.
