CHICAGO (CBS) – Villa Park police halted the search locally for a suspect in a shooting inside Safari Land on Saturday evening that left one person injured.
According to police, the suspect, a black man wearing a black jacket with white writing, blue jeans and a black baseball cap was seen running into the residential neighborhood near Lincoln and Roy after the shooting at the indoor family entertainment center located in the Villa DuPage. Mall at 701 W. North Ave.

Police were actively searching for the suspect around 8:30 pm and warned people to stay away from the area and call 911 if they see anyone suspicious in the area but later said the search was suspended locally.
The police chief said the suspect was no longer in the area around 10:30 p.m.
Police called the incident a “highly targeted” shooting.

The victim was hospitalized and is expected to survive, but details of what caused the shooting are unclear.
The business is normally full of children and families, witnesses said.
“This is not possible because families come here to enjoy, for children .. a place for the children .. a place for a family to come here and be comfortable. So I don’t know what happened, ”said one witness. “I’m afraid. Everyone is afraid, too.”

The police chief would not say where the police were looking for the suspect on Saturday night.
