What Mario Cristobal said after the Oregon Ducks defeated Washington State

EUGENE – No. 3 Oregon defeated Washington State, 38-24, Saturday night at Autzen Stadium.

Mario Cristobal summed up the Ducks’ six conference victory.

Below is an initial live update of Cristobal’s post-game press conference. A full transcript will follow.

MARIO CRISTOBAL

– Made half-time adjustments to deal with pressures

– Proud of how hard Oregon played an entire game

– Says Byron Cardwell Jr. plays with “older eyes” and is a quick study for a young guy

– Mykael Wright kickback to an open second half was a “big boost” to a team

– About Brandon Dorlus: “He’s just as explosive and as effective as a defensive lineman as you’ll find now.” He makes opponents have to concentrate away from Thibodeaux.

– Drastic improvement of special equipment

– Says WSU’s ability to force a fumble has been a point of emphasis all week. On the one hand “disappointing” the fumble took place. On the other hand, staying with those players and them coming was “scary” to see as well.

– Says Anthony Brown Jr. had to run tonight based on what the WSU defense did. “He used everything he had to make it a reality.”

– Keeping WSU at 3 after Brown’s fumble was very important

– No update on Johnny Johnson III’s right foot / ankle
